Who owns the Grand Theatre? The Grand Foundation, Inc., a non-profit 501c3 organization, that was formed in 2005 to preserve the last remaining movie palace in Grand Island.
What is your seating capacity? 487, although we usually shut the doors around 450 to be certain we do not go over capacity.
When was the theatre built? The current structure was built in 1937.
How are you able to sell concessions so reasonable? Because we are a second-run theater and we operate almost entirely through dedicated volunteers.
How do you know what movie is going to be playing? Movie selection is based on availability, box office revenue and demand. If there’s a movie you would really like to see at the Grand, let us know!
When are your showtimes? 7:15 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sundays.
Do you have children’s matinees? Yes on the last Saturday of the month. The matinee is free due to the generosity of our sponsors.
What are the ticket and concession prices? $3.50 for adults and $2.50 for children. You can purchase a large popcorn and pop for $6.00 at our reasonably priced concession stand.
